Reading Schedule
Beginning Tuesday May 12, we will begin reading the story of King David. The holy and righteous King David was the second king of all Israel, after King Saul, around approximately 1000 BC. He was also a prophet, having written a great number of the Psalms, and one of the Forefathers of Christ. The Church commemorates him together with all the ancestors of Christ on the Sunday of the Forefathers (i.e., the Sunday between December 11-17).
King David is an example of great repentance, with humility and faith bearing the sorrows sent in punishment for his sins. He gave a model for repentance in composing Psalm 50 (51). The holy Prophet-King David is invoked by those facing difficult situations, such as an interview,
